It’s nothing new that western society tends to default everyone to white until proven otherwise. This is most common in books and radio shows where there isn’t a visual representation of the character in front of the audience. If a character isn’t explicitly stated as being a person of color, most people just assume the character is white. Things can get complicated when the actor portraying the character is a person of color but passes for white or if a character was incorrectly read by many people as white.

of course there are comments saying leave those poor kids alone you are just as bad for exposing them. Remember those racist hunger games tweets also by white teens.  so stop naming what god damn year it is and acting brand new. 

A mistake is spilling tea on yourself, dropping your phone in a puddle, or clicking the wrong download link. Not making numerous of racist comments. All these white people crying for these white kids saying how scared they must feel not at all worrying about all the CHILDREN OF COLOUR they go to school with.

The racists are out in full force today.  Let me point out that ashen means having a grey tone to one’s skin, usually because of sickness.  It is not equivalent to being pale or to being white.

Jeffery Wright has been cast as Beetee. I’m thrilled.  Jeffery Wright is a brilliant and terribly under-rated actor.

Thinking back to his role as that mad genius in “Source Code”, I can see how he was considered for the role.
