As soon as I posted that, I had people tweeting at me saying it was racist and immature and I see that now. I read the books a while ago and I suppose I forgot that Rue was in fact, black. But even still that shouldn't excuse that tweet. I honestly have no idea what compelled me to write that because Rue was just as innocent and truly adorable than any other white girl. So I apologize for that. Can you please remove it? Thankyou

Hey sw4q (or girl formerly known as sw4q since you’ve since changed your twitter account),

A few things:

1. As I’m typing this, it’s been reblogged over 3,000 times so there really is not point to me taking it down NOW.

2. This isn’t only about you.  It’s about a widespread problem in our society where people in general have lost respect.

3. Your tweet is something that I fear represents the thoughts of many boys and girls.  I needed to post it so that others who saw it and recognized the ugly reflections of themselves in those words would start to question their values and principles.  The hope is that this will result in a positive change and shift in attitudes.

If what you’re saying above is true, then I applaud and encourage you.  The apology isn’t mine to accept though.
