What rock has this idiot been living under? The movie comes out at the end of the month and there’s media EVERYWHERE showing the cast. Dick.

I believe him when he says he’s not making a racist comment.  I just think it’s stupid that he feels the need to ask… regardless of what the book says.  I’m tired of people acting like they need to verify the identify of black characters in book-to-movie adaptations.

The problem I have with this tweet is the usual assumption that most readers have being that all of their characters are white.  Even in light of a description that suggests otherwise, it’s not enough.

This tweet was submitted to me by one of my followers.  I had to look up what “hench” meant (London slang apparently for huge… muscular).  Anyway, I get it.  Nobody saw it coming that Cinna would be black.  But come on… lighten up on the poor guy.

Hi everyone,

I’ve decided to create this Tumblr to acknowledge all of the idiotic tweets that I’ve come across as they concern the Hunger Games.

For now, they’ll focus on the “shock” that many Tweeters are experiencing in their discovery of Rue being a black girl.  Maybe I’ll venture into other areas.  We’ll see.
