Hunger Games Tweets |
This Tumblr page will expose the Hunger Games fans on Twitter who dare to call themselves fans yet don't know a damn thing about the books. |
Nicole Paulhus offers up a great article on The Hunger Games, Racism, and the habit of “white-washing” characters in novels.
This breaks my heart.
@Maggie_mcd11 is (or was) the twitter user that’ll probably go down in history for creating the “not gonna lie” meme. As some of you know, the account has now been taken over by somebody offering a comedic spin on the meme.
According to Steve (who I’ll trust is truthfully a friend of hers), this girl is only 15. FIFTEEN! To me, that’s way too young to be saying stuff like Rue being black ruined the movie.
Not gonna lie though… There really is no right age to foster feelings like that.
This one had me laughing for a while. Special thanks to arulein for referring this tweet to me.
I just had to share this because I think it’s an awesome tweet.
I sense an error in his tweet.
I’m pretty sure that many of the people expressing shock over Rue being black experienced this as a result.
Ya but tell us how you really feel…
So… You sorta have to read this one from the bottom up.
Just before the top tweet, mari (@inspect0rfagg0t for those who wanna say hi) has her line of thinking questioned by a friend, at which point she activates the CAPS LOCK to show that she means business.
Anyway, this is the sort of tweet that you read and reply with a simple “lol u mad?”

I don’t make this shit up…
LOL @ pale readhead…
Anyway, “why is she black” has got to be one of my favourite questions. For those who’ve been reading this blog for a while, you’ll already know my answer to that question.
MELANIN!!
Ya but…. U wrong doe… On da real…
Remember that word ‘innocent’? This is why Trayvon Martin is dead.
Save Katniss’ life, still get called a nigger
