You know, a guy like Uncle Ruckus would fit perfectly as a character in “Save the Pearls”.

He would be the “Pearl Sympathizer” that earns the trust of the Pearls by sharing his painful struggles with Re-Vitiligo.

I wonder if Victoria Foyt knows about The Boondocks?

Okay everyone, grab your pencils grab your notebooks and take a seat.  Cate Matthews (@cateematthews on both Twitter and Tumblr, follow her) is about to break it all down for you guys.

Her video very quickly and simply shows us the way we’ve all been taught to default the people that we envision in books and generally in our minds as “white”.  Unless we’re heavily (HEAVILY!) spoon-fed other bits of information to say otherwise, which even then sometimes fails. 

Cate also shares some interesting research that shows the staggeringly low representation of minorities in recently published children’s books and the top 10 box-office movies.

P.S. - Cate’s name looked familiar to me and I then realized that she’s the same person that made this tweet.

Unfortunately it went over a lot of peoples’ heads (They didn’t get the connection it had to Rick Santorum and a foot-in-mouth comment he’d recently made but I thought it was funny)

P.P.S - Cate gets bonus points for the Squirtle and Charmander pics up on her wall in the background.

I’ve dreamt about seeing one of these videos made. If I had the talent I’d make one myself.

I hope someone with really creative writing skills can script and produce one of these. A lot of Downfall videos are hilarious but a lot of them also suck.

Black Nerd Comedy: RANTS! HUNGER GAMES RACIST? No Blacks Allowed!

Are you guys ready for a good laugh?

Everybody, please meet Andre (@BlackNerd on Twitter) the creator and host of “Black Nerd Comedy” on YouTube.

Fearing that The Hunger Games was yet another “Twilight” or “Harry Potter”, he chose to avoid reading the book or watching the movie.  HOWEVER, upon doing some research, he came to learn of the DRAMA concerning our dear friend, Rue.

@Maggie_mcd11 is (or was) the twitter user that’ll probably go down in history for creating the “not gonna lie” meme. As some of you know, the account has now been taken over by somebody offering a comedic spin on the meme.

According to Steve (who I’ll trust is truthfully a friend of hers), this girl is only 15. FIFTEEN! To me, that’s way too young to be saying stuff like Rue being black ruined the movie.

Not gonna lie though… There really is no right age to foster feelings like that.

I’m pretty sure that many of the people expressing shock over Rue being black experienced this as a result.

Just before the top tweet, mari (@inspect0rfagg0t for those who wanna say hi) has her line of thinking questioned by a friend, at which point she activates the CAPS LOCK to show that she means business.

Anyway, this is the sort of tweet that you read and reply with a simple “lol u mad?”
